New Delhi, Mar 9: For the fifth consecutive day since the resumption of the Budget Session, the Rajya Sabha witnessed uproar by members on various issues on Friday.
Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu was forced to adjourn the proceedings till 1430 hours.
After the laying of papers, when the Chairman sought to carry out proceedings of the Zero Hour, members of the Congress, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kaghazam and the Telegu Desam Partty came into the well of the House raising a host of issues, including bank scams, Cauvery and the grant of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Repeated pleas by the Chairman to members to allow the Zero Hour to proceed fell on deaf ears.
The uproar continued forcing Mr Naidu to adjourn the House till 1430 hours.
This was the fifth day in succession during the second half of the budget session that the House has witnessed disruptions on various issues, leading to repeated adjournments and blocking transaction of Government business. UNI
