Hyderabad, Mar 8: The biennial event on Civil Aviation and Aerospace titled "Wings India
2018" got underway at a colourful function at the Begumpet Airport here on
Thursday.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao inaugurated
the four-day event jointly organised by the Civil Aviation Ministry, Airports
Authority of India and the Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rao said that Hyderabad city was set to become the centre for Aviation Sector, adding many aviation industry giants including Boeing had come forward to establish their units in the city.
He said the city was an ideal location for the establishment of Aviation University.
Union Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju who was to inaugurate the event did not turn up apparently due to the latest political developments.
Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao who was to be the chief guest also did not attend the inaugural ceremony. UNI
