Srinagar, Apr 28: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug smuggler and recovered over one kg of charas from his possession in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said a 'naka' was established at Sumbal in Bandipora following a tip off regarding the movement of drug peddlers. One suspected person was challenged, the spokesman said, adding that later 1.4 kg of charas was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler has been arrested, he said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigation taken up.
Yesterday, police arrested a drug peddler Nazir Ahmad Teehkray, resident of Jabla and recovered 800 grams of brown sugar at Kamalkote near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri which was smuggled from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). UNI
