Delhi, Apr 3: Following the past success of Skill Development initiatives
in 2015-16 & 2017-18, Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Construction
Industry Development Council (CIDC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on
for Financial Assistance for Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development
Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women, Unemployed Youth & people belonging to
EWS.
This CSR initiative of AAI, to be implemented during 2018-19, will have 2000
beneficiaries.
The MoA was signed by Sanjeev Jindal (GM-CSR), AAI and Ashutosh Bhardwaj, (Director – Corporate Affairs) of CIDC in the presence of G K Chaukiyal (ED-CSR), AAI, Ajay Kumar, AGM (HR), AAI and B N Rao, Sr. Manager CIDC.
The program is aimed at providing job oriented skill development and training to the marginalised and economically weaker sections of the society in five zones namely South, West, East, North and North Eastern. The training will be provided in CIDC centres and will help in skill development of rural youth, women, SC/ST/OBC and other marginalised sections in construction sector whereby they can be gainfully employed.
According to AAI press release, this partnership will eventually help in poverty reduction, rise in self-esteem of the individuals and value addition to their skills. The initiative will play an important role in livelihood promotion of people from backward and remote areas as well as help them gain meaningful employment leading to their social and economic upliftment.
