Special initiative for poor rural households to begin on April 14 |
JAMMU, APRIL 6: Chief
Secretary, B B Vyas on Friday reviewed
the preparation of various state government departments in regard to the Gram
Swaraj Abhiyan-a special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for
reaching out to the poor households in 21058 villages across the country.
The mission will be launched during 14th April
to 5th May, 2018 for universal coverage of seven
programmes viz Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli
HarGhar Yojana, Ujala Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri
Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission
Indradhanush.
The activities scheduled to be carried during the
mission period include Samajik Nyaya Diwas (Social Justice Day) on April 14thto
commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Swachh Bharat Diwas on
April 18th, UjjwalaDiwas on April 20th, Rashtriya
Panchayat Raj Diwas on April 24th, Gram Swaraj Diwas on April 28th,
Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas on April 30th, Kisan Kalyan Diwas on May 2nd and
AajeevikaDiwas on May 5th, 2018.
During the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, special day long
events will be organised across the state and would involve partnership of
various state, central government departments and the local communities.
Chief Secretary directed the concerned
Administrative Secretaries to prepare activity wise calendar of events setting
clear measurable targets besides ensuring that officers/officials, covering all 7 programmes, are
deployed in teams to the gram panchayat, block and the district level
to ensure success of this mission.
Chief Secretary asked Administrative Secretary
Rural Development & Panchayati Raj to organise a video conference with DCs
on April 9th to ensure better coordination with the district
administration.
