New Delhi, Aug 28 :  BJP president Amit Shah today inaugurated a day-long meeting of the party's chief ministers in which it was decided to meet targets of the 'Swachh Bharat' scheme in a time-bound manner.

The ongoing 'Gram Swaraj' project in over 48,000 villages was also discussed in the meeting.

Party sources said the meeting also passed a condolence message commemorating former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a leader who brought to fruition the concept of good governance and in whose death the country lost a visionary.

BJP leaders also remembered Vajpayee's work to develop the northeast region and also create three new states as they paid him tributes.

Sources said it was decided in the meeting that the targets set for the 'Swachh Bharat' (Clean India) project should be met within a specified period.

Leaders also took stock of implementation of seven central welfare schemes, including distribution of cooking gas connection and LED bulbs among the poor and also their coverage under insurance schemes, in over 48000 villages.

The meeting has assumed significance due to the upcoming assembly polls in three BJP-ruled states and the Lok Sabha elections, which are less than eight months away.PTI




Dr Jitendra enumerates Govts welfare initiatives for poor
UDHAMPUR, APRIL-25-: As a part of effective implementation of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in the district to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas was celebrated today at village Panjar Tehsil Moungri of district Udhampur.
Minister of State for Prime Ministers Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh was the chief guest while Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar Senior Superintendent of Police, Rayees Bhat, ASP, Faisal Qureshi, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra, Chief Education Officer, J.R Bhardwaj and other District and Tehsil level officers of various departments besides large number of prominent citizen were present on the occasion. 
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh said that the main objective of celebration of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan is to make the common masses aware about the benefit of various social security Schemes. He informed that seven schemes have been launched by the government of India under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indradhanush etc. He described the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan as one of the revolutionary and daring decisions taken by the present Government in the interest of poor people of the country.   
Dr.Jitendra Singh reiterated the commitment of Central Government for strengthening Rural Economy through a series of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and flagship programmes.
Earlier, Union Minister held a public grievances redress camp at village Panjar to get a detailed account of various problems faced by the people of this far flung area.
During the camp, MoS Ajay Nanda and prominent citizens of the area apprised the Union Minister of the problems of their respective villages related to power and water supply, road connectivity, healthcare, shortage of staff in government educational institutions of Tehsil Moungri, Electrification of unelectrified areas, Implementation of Ujjwala Yojana, clearance of pending payments of PHE works, Opening of new bank branches in the area, dilapidated condition of various roads particular KaithGali to Moungri road. The common masses of the area also raised the demand of establishing a helipad at Moungri.
Responding to peoples grievances, Dr. Singh asked the officers to ensure delivery of essential services to the people living in rural and far-off areas of the district at their doorsteps. He assured the public that their genuine demands and problems would be resolved at the earliest. 
Later, Union Minister accompanied by MoS Ajay Nanda distributed Gas connection among the beneficiaries Under PMUY on the occasion.




KARGIL, APRIL 14: Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (Village Self Governance Campaign) today kick-started here on the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar with the holding of sensitization and awareness programmes at 15 Gram Panchayats of the district.
On the first day of the nationwide campaign today, awareness programmes on Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and social schemes under Social Welfare and ICDS with a special focus on pregnant women, lactating mothers and mothers of children below six years of age were held. Officers of the concerned departments, Ex-Sarpanches, Ex-Panches, ICDS supervisors, Anganwadi and Asha workers, Village Level Workers and villagers attended the awareness sessions.
During the awareness sessions held at the Gram Panchayats today, rich tributes were paid to Dr. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary for the cause of the underprivileged and his role in drafting the Constitution of India.
Meanwhile, the administration has chalked out a calendar of events including awareness camps, seminars and meetings to be held across the district as a part of the nationwide campaign from April 14 to May 5 to make the rural people aware of various beneficiary oriented social schemes. The schemes to be highlighted during the programme include the Ujala Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana-Saubhagya, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jiwan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna and Mission Indradhanush.
Nodal officers have been appointed to ensure better coordination and cooperation, besides the progress of the functions, is being reviewed on a routine basis so as to ensure successful operation of the campaign in the district.
The objective of the Abhiyan is to promote social harmony among the villagers, connect to poor rural households, gain feedback on government programmes, focus on doubling farmers income, improving livelihood opportunities, and strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions.




ANANTNAG, APRIL 14: On the birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar, the District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik launched an outreach campaign Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) from Primary Health Centre Mattan Anantnag today.
The DDC was accompanied by ADC Anantnag, Tehsildar Mattan, BDO Mattan and BMO Medical Block Mattan.  
On the occasion, the DDC said that presently State and Centrally sponsored schemes and programmes are being run in the district so that the general public is benefitted from them.
He said that RGSA will speed up the overall developmental growth in the rural areas of the district and the field functionaries like ASHAs, ANMs, Aanganwadis and other concerned can play a vital role in bringing the benefits of such schemes to the doorsteps of the rural folk. 
The DDC stressed for proper nutrition and healthcare of the newborns so that a healthy society is built.
The campaign will continue until May 5, he added.  
Later, the DDC also distributed visual aids (eyeglasses) among 20 children.
He also visited Sub Centre Akura to take stock of the awareness being provided to the public regarding the RGSA.
Similar functions were held in Dak Bungalow Anantnag and PHC Larnu also. 




KULGAM, APRIL 14: District administration Kulgam launched outreach campaign 'Gram Swaraj Abhiyan' here today to mark the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.
The campaign which will continue till May 5 is aimed to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing development programmes, focus on doubling farmers income, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities including cleanliness and strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions.
The day is also celebrated as 'Social Justice’ day dedicated to the empowerment of differently-abled persons.
On the occasion, the Social Welfare Department Kulgam distributed 45 prosthetic aids including hearing aids, wheelchairs and clutches among the beneficiaries. 
The function was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Social Welfare Officer and other officials of Rural Development Department.
Similar functions were also held at Sub-Division DH Pora and block level headquarters.



RAMBAN, APRIL 11: Additional District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Sadhu convened a meeting today to discuss the action plan for Gram Swaraj Abhiyan starting from April 14th to 5th of May 2018.
ADC Gurvinder Jeet Singh, ACD G.H Kripak, CMO Dr. Saif-ud-Din Khan, Executive Engineer PDD, CAO and other officers were present during the meeting.
The meeting discussed objectives of the Centrally Sponsored Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and the officers were directed to prepare action plan regarding the activities to be undertaken in each Gram Panchayat of the district.
On the occasion, it was informed that different programmes like Social Justice Day on 14th April, Swach Bharat Diwas on 18th April, Ujjawala Diwas on 20th April, Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas on 24th April will be celebrated. Moreover, Gram Swaraj Diwas, Ayaushman Bharat Diwas, Farmers Welfare Day and Aajeevika Diwas will be celebrated.  
It was also given out that new LPG connections shall be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries under Ujjwala scheme during Gram Swaraj Abhiyan campaign.
ADDC directed the concerned to work in coordination for better results at grass root from Gram Sabha Abhiyan.
 He also directed RDD, health and ICDS to ensure presence of VLWs, GRS, ANMS, Aaganwari and Asha workers in gram panchayats during the meeting of Gram Sabha.



RAJOURI, APRIL 11: District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired a meeting today to finalize arrangements for Gram Swaraj Abhiyan to be organized at various locations across the district from 14th April to 5th May 2018.
SE EM&RE Manhar Gupta, PO ICDS Abdul Rashid, ACD Noor Alam, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, ExEn EM& RE Munshi Khan, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, AD FCS & CA Javed Choudhary and officers from Education, Agriculture, Panchayats, Banks and allied departments attended the meeting.
The Gram Swaraj Abhyan aims at creating   awareness among people about various schemes and take benefits to grass roots level. It also endeavours to promote accountability of Gram Panchayat in implementation of these schemes and strengthen Panchayati Raj. April 14will be celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti marked by programmes on social justice, April 18 as Swachh Bharat Parv, April 20 as Ujjwala Yojana,April 24 as Panchayati Raj Divas, April 28 as Gram Shakti Abhiyan, April 30 as Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan, 2nd May as Kissan Kalyan Karyashala and May 5th as Aajivika & Kaushal Vikas Mela.
The speech of Prime Minister on 14th April will be live streamed at selected blocks and panchayats. Meanwhile the villages selected include Lam, Qila Darhal, Sarya, Khamba, Rajpur Kamila, Nonial, Bhajnowa and Hanjana Thakra all located along LoC.
The DDC directed the departments for greater public participation and involvement of stakeholders in conducting the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and involvement of print and electronic media including radio for reaching out to masses in far flung areas, apart from the ongoing mass contact programme already initiated by the district administration. He emphasised to involve the Press Club Rajouri for a robust public information campaign.
Authorities aim to cover more than 10,000 beneficiaries to be covered under various schemes across the district including connections under Ujjwala Yojana, health related schemes, swachh baharat and various central schemes. Block Development Officers have been deployed as nodal officers to coordinate with departments and sectors apart from organising public programmes.



KUPWARA, APRIL 10: A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Kupwara today to discuss the preparations for conducting Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (Village Self- Governance Campaign) to be held from 14th April to 5th May 2018.
The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineer PHE Division Handwara, Executive Engineer I&FC Div Kupwara / Handwara, Executive Engineer PDD Kupwara & Handwara, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kupwara, District Lead Bank Officer, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kupwara / Handwara/ Langate, Horticulture Development Officer, Child Development Project Officer ICDS Sogam, Assistant Director CAPD and representative  of Chief Education Officer Kupwara.
After through deliberations the participants were informed that the Campaign is to be held over a period from 14th April to 5th May in all Gram Panchyats all over the District.




JAMMU, APRIL 10: Union Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha Tuesday chaired a video conference with the Union Secretaries and Chief Secretaries of states, to review the preparations in regard to the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan-a special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for reaching out to the poor households in 21058 villages across the country.
Chief Secretary, J&K, B B Vyas also participated in the video conference.
The massive pro-poor initiative will be launched between 14th April and 5th May, 2018 and would involve as many as 33 lakh elected PRIs members, 5 crore women SHG members, MLAs and MPs besides partnership of various state and central government departments and local communities.  As many as 1200 officers of Government of India will be deployed to the villages spread across the country in different states.
The special initiative will intensively focus on saturation of villages under seven programmes viz Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli HarGhar Yojana, Ujala Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Mission Indradhanush.
The activities scheduled to be carried during the mission period include Samajik Nyaya Diwas (Social Justice Day) on April 14th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Swachh Bharat Diwas on April 18th, UjjwalaDiwas on April 20th, Rashtriya Panchayat Raj Diwas on April 24th, Gram Swaraj Diwas on April 28th, Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas on April 30th, Kisan Kalyan Diwas on May 2nd and AajeevikaDiwas on May 5th, 2018.
Among the many initiatives under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan also include village cleanliness drives, camps for scholarship enrolment, bank account, Aadhaar linkage, new LPG connections, new electricity connections, sale of LED bulbs, enrolling beneficiaries under PMJDY, PMJJBY and PMSBY, vaccination of children and pregnant women, workshop on doubling farmers income and celebrating success stories of women and youth. 




BANDIPORA, APRIL 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the preparations and plan for Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (Village Self Governance Campaign) starting from April 14.
The meeting discussed threadbare objectives of the Centrally Sponsored Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and the officers were directed to prepare action plan regarding the activities to be undertaken in each Gram Panchayat of the district.
The DDC asked the concerned Officers to gear up their field functionaries, including VLW's, ANM's, Aanganwari Workers, Asha Workers, to participate in all the Gram Sabha's during the Abhiyan.
The Rural Development Department was asked to ensure Gram Sabha's in all Gram Panchayats. It was stressed upon the officers to observe April 14 as Samajik Nyaya Diwas, April 18 as Swatch Bharat Diwas, April 20 as UjjwalaDiwad and April 24 as Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas during the Abhiyan.
Speaking on the occasion the DDC enjoined upon all the Line Departments to work with in tandem and coordination so that better results could be yielded from Gram Sabha Abhiyan at the gross root level.
Among others Chief Medical Office, District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Education Officer, Nodal Officer ISM health, Executive Engineer PDD were present.
