Srinagar, Apr 19: The
Kashmir University (KU) and Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST)
have postponed all examinations, scheduled to be held on Thursday in view of
the protests in educational institutions.
A spokesman for the IUST said class work and all scheduled
examinations have been suspended. However, no reason was given for postponing
examinations. Protests erupted at the campus on Wednesday when students
boycotted their classes and hit the streets in protest against the Kathua rape
and murder case.
He said fresh dates for the examination will be announced later.
Similarly, the KU, where protests were witnessed yesterday, also postponed all examinations which were scheduled to be held today.
Class work in the university has also been suspended as a precautionary measure. UNI
