Bengaluru, Apr 10: Former External Affairs Minister and veteran politician S M Krishna will not be
leaving the BJP and rejoin Congress and the rumour was floated by the Congress
which is fearing a debacle in the May 12 Assembly elections in Karnataka, former
Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters here the BJP leaders said the veteran
politician was touring abroad and he had spoken to him and he had denied any
such reports.
He said the party was ready to accommodate any family member of
Mr Krishna either in Bengaluru or elsewhere if they wished to contest on a BJP ticket in the coming elections.
Earlier in the day reports had suggested that Mr Krishna was contemplating leaving BJP and rejoining the Congress party as he was sidelined by the saffron party. After being in Congress for decades
Mr Krishna had left the party and joined BJP one-and-half years ago. His reentry back in Congress will be welcomed by AICC President Rahul Gandhi.
Mr Ashok said Mr Krishna would take part in campaigning for BJP candidates soon after his return from abroad. UNI
