SRINAGAR, MAY 23: Chief Minister,
Mehbooba Mufti today visited Jamia Madinatul Uloom at Hazratbal and took stock
of its functioning.
During the visit,
the Chief Minister was briefed about the activities at the school by Principal,
Prof. Muhammad Tayyib Kamili.
The Chief
Minister, who is also the Chairperson of the J&K Wakf Board, directed
installation of computers at the school and restoration of its library.
Mehbooba Mufti,
on the occasion, also took an appraisal of various beautification projects
underway at the shrine complex.
Minister of State
for Housing & Urban Development, Asiea Naqash; Vice Chairman, Wakf Board,
Nizamuddin Bhat; officers of Divisional and District administration were
present on the occasion.
Earlier, the
Chief Minister visited Dargah Hazratbal and prayed for peace and prosperity of
the people of the State.
Later, the Chief
Minister convened a meeting of Wakf Board and officers of Divisional
administration to review the pace of beautification and expansion of Dargah
complex.
Mehbooba Mufti
directed pacing up the process of decongestion of the shrine complex and its
adjoining areas. She also directed undertaking repairs of ladies section of the
shrine, handing over of sanitation activities to SMC, working on the proposal
to construct a community hall nearby.
The Chief
Minister asked the Wakf authorities to dove tail their electrification works
with the PDD so that an interruption free supply of power is ensured at the
shrine complex.

Naqash; ADGP, Security, Muneer Ahmad Khan; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,
Baseer Ahmad Khan; Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed; CEO, Wakf Board,
Bashir Ahmad Dar; Commissioner, SMC, Reyaz Ahmad Wani; Vice Chairman, LAWDA,
Abdul Hafiz Shah; other senior officers and members of the Wakf Board were
present in the meeting.
