BANDIPORA, MAY 28: Highlighting the ill effects
of drugs on human health, MLA Bandipora Usman Majeed today urged upon the
students to work as Ambassadors against drug abuse and work in a cooperative
approach to make this district free from drug abuse.
The MLA was
addressing the students at HKM Govt Degree College Bandipora during a day long
sensitization cum awareness programme on drug abuse. The programme was
organized by Indian system of Medicine (ISM), Health Bandipora in collaboration
with the college.
District Development
Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanaie, SSP Bandipora Sheikh
Zulfiqar Azad, Principal GDC Prof. H.G Mustafa, Nodal Officer ISM Dr Iftikhar,
faculty members, officers and the students participated in the programme.
The DDC on the
occasion stressed for launching a vigorous campaign against drugs in the
district. He said all necessary steps should be taken for proper counselling
and rehabilitation of drug victims.
During the programme, professors and students also spoke on the topic
and an oath ceremony was also held.
