JAMMU, MAY 31: Minister for
School Education, Hajj and Auqaf and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali,
today laid foundation and e-inaugurated several projects of school education
department across Jammu division completed under RMSA, SSA, State and District
sector schemes.
Minister of State
for Education Shakti Raj Parihar and Legislator Dina Nath Bhagat were also
present on the occasion.
Legislator, Pawan
Gupta and senior officers of various districts attended the inaugural
event through video conference.
The Minister
inaugurated 68 newly constructed school building and also laid foundation of
two buildings.
The building
includes Middle Schools, Primary Schools, DIET Complexes, Upper
Primary Schools, Higher Secondary schools, Girls hostel and others in
Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi and
Kishtwar districts. The construction cost of these projects is Rs 25 crore.
Zulfkar greeted the
students, staff and officers of the department for getting new infrastructure.
He hoped that with the spacious buildings, the academic activities in the schools
would get a new push.
He further
reiterated that development of education sector is one of the main priorities
of the government and many steps are being taken for the upgradation of the
basic infrastructure in educational institutions.
“We want to
ensure that the schools function smoothly and the education of
children does not suffer for any reason,” he said
and asked the concerned officers to move a proposal for uniform
colour coding of school buildings across the state.
The Minister
directed the concerned authorities for conducting subject specific
refresher/orientation courses for the teachers to keep them abreast with
the latest teaching styles in the fast-changing world. He said that many new
concepts/ researches have come up in the teaching field which a present-day
teacher should be aware of, therefore, refresher courses become important.
He directed SIE and
DIET authorities to impart training to the teachers on modern lines by using
the new methodology and latest technology.
The Minister was
informed that CM’s Super 50 Coaching Programme has been started in Boys Higher
Secondary School Gandhi Nagar and Government Sri Ranbir Higher Secondary School
where students are prepared for engineering, medical and other professional
exams.
The Minister also
directed to start extra classes/remedial classes for the children weak in
studies and in the border schools where studies of the students suffered due to
shelling.
Also present on the occasion were Director School Education Rakesh
Kumar Srangal, Personnel Officer, Afshan Masood, Chief Education Officer Jammu
J K Sudan and other senior officers of concerned department.
