KISHTWAR, MAY 18: Health department today organized a free screening camp for children
(0-18 years) under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) here at Parade
ground.
The Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana
inaugurated the camp in presence of SSP Abrar
Ahmed Chowdhary, Deputy SP Operation N.A. Khoja,CMO, Deputy CMO and other
officials and staff of health department.
The camp was aimed at to provide free child health
screening and treatment facilities for various ailments like defect at birth,
deficiencies, diseases, developmental delay and other disabilities, under the
centrally sponsored scheme Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK).
While speaking on the occasion, the DC directed
concerned to work in tandem to spread awareness among participants regarding
health-related problems.
He said that people should take benefit from various health programmes and avail medical care
facilities from nearby health centres. He further stressed that students must
be facilitated with balanced diet in schools under Mid Day meal Scheme to save
them from malnutrition and other
health problems.
During the camp, children and students from various
schools were screened, treated for various major and minor health problems and
were given free medicines. They were also familiarized about importance of hand
washing and other general hygiene practices.
