SRINAGAR, JUNE 06: In
pursuance to its monthly Ramadan special series, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of
Art Culture and Languages (AACL) today organized Mehfil Sufiana Qawali at
Tagore Hall here.
Nizami brothers from Delhi performed the qawali and
mesmerized the jam-packed audiences comprising people from all walks of life
besides students from various educational institutions.
Among prominent that attended the mehfil included
Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology Prof. Mushtaq
Siddiqui, Justice Bashir Ahmad Khan, former legislator A R rather, Noted
Broadcaster Abdal Mehjoor, former Director Doordarshan Kendra Shehzadi Simon,
besides others.
The Secretary AACL, Dr Aziz Hajini said that the
qawali mehfil was organized with the purpose to celebrate our culture, ethos
and literature.
“AACL
did not lose its mood in Ramadan and continued with its efforts to organize
such programmes across the length and breadth of Kashmir given the fact that
our culture has the scope and is connected to tradition and spirituality,”
he added.
He added that an Islamic exhibition will also be
inaugurated June 07 at
Tourist Reception Centre here.
