Reasi admin hosts SBM workshop

REASI, JUNE 07: An awareness camp cum workshop was today organised by Reasi district administration to aware the general public about Swachh Bharat Mission.

The workshop was attended by BDOs, VLWs, GRS and ASHAs of the district in presence of Additional District Dev. Commissioner Ramesh Chander, ACD   M Y Malik and Deputy Director Planning Parvinder Kour.

Addressing the gathering, the ADDC called upon the field functionaries and the participants to sincerely contribute in making Reasi Open Defecation Free district.

He exhorted upon the concerned officers to come up with holistic plan to achieve the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin).

The ACD asked the ASHAs to spread the awareness among the general public and motivate them to maintain surroundings clean, adopt hygienic lifestyle and develop the habit of using toilets in their homes.

He said efforts of ASHA workers will prove path breaking in achieving the goal of Swachh Reasi.

The speakers also briefed the ASHAs about the problems created due to open defecation and its serious impact on the health of the people.

The DPO stressed on ASHAs to go for door to door  campaign while urging upon the civil society to play their part   in making every school  and village open defecation free.

The participants also took swachta pledge to make Reasi district open defecation free.

Later, progress under SBM(G) was reviewed  by  ACD  in a meeting attended by the concerned officials. The DPO briefed about the progress made under various components of the mission.

Detailed discussions were also held on the issues like updating of Base Line Survey, MIS under SBM, Geo Tagging under SBM, ODF of Panchayats, status of the construction of IHHL units and achievements made under SBM in the district.

The BDOs were directed to work in a mission mode and complete their assignments with a sense of responsibility and team spirit so that the targets set by the  administrative department are achieved in a time bound manner.
