RAJOURI, JUNE 23 -
District Administration, Rajouri today dedicated to students a state-of-the-art
library and counseling centre established to equip the students for various
competitive examinations.
District
Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with CEO RDA Dr Tahir
Firdaus, DPO Dr Abdul Khabir, Dy Registrar Cooperatives Waqar Talib, EO
Municipal Committee M A Lone and other officers, prominent citizens,
educationists and students inaugurated the library established in a very short
span of time.
The library has a
rich collection of books on various examinations like NEET, NDA/CDS, Civil
Services Examinations, Management, Aptitude tests and different competitions at
state and national level particularly those conducted by J&K PSC and Union
Public Service Commission.
An IT Cell has also
been set-up to provide e-books and a collection of thousands of books available
on National Digital Library, access to research papers and various digital
sources. Four special study rooms have been established for scholars,
researchers, PG students and qualifiers of Mains examination of
CSE. All the reading rooms, halls and study rooms have been provided
with air conditioning system.
The DDC
complemented the efforts of DPO Dr Abdul Khabir and DRCS Waqar Talib for brilliant
efforts to establish a quality library with modern facilities in record time.
He also appreciated SHG Head Nayeem Ahmed for quality execution. The
representatives of cooperatives societies were also present who appreciated the
efforts of authorities for re-development of city with such facilities in a
very short time.
On the sidelines of
inauguration ceremony, an interaction was organised with students. They were
briefed about enrolment formalities, facilities available and pre-requisites
for various competitive examinations. A dedicated team of IAS/KAS officers,
subject specialists and educationists has been constituted as a panel for
guiding students for various examinations.
The DDC informed
that district administration has taken many initiatives to promote culture of
book-reading and libraries in Rajouri.
A dedicated Girls
library with more than 2,000 books and IT Centre, counselling centre, class
rooms and reading rooms was operationalised in January 2018 while another
Library has been established as part of Press Club Rajouri. Similar Libraries
are being planned to be opened at Nowshera, Darhal, Sunderbani, Koteranka and
Kalakote by the end of this year.
