BARAMULLA, JULY 3: Additional
Secretary Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Arun Kumar
Mehta today chaired a meeting of officers here at Dak bungalow to review
the progress of implementation of various schemes and flagship programmes in
key sectors that comes under the purview of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) in
centrally sponsored "Aspirational Districts" programme.
Meeting was
attended by District Developmental Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad
Naqash, ADC Farooq Ahmad Baba, Director Planning A G Malik, SEs and EXNs of
different line departments, CMO, CEO and various others.
On the occasion,
the DDC Baramulla briefed the Additional Secretary about the
implementation of various schemes and projects through the power point
presentation. He said that 21936 free LPG connections have been distributed
among AAY ration card holders under Ujjawala yojna out of the target of 35046.
DDC said that about 425615 subsidized LEDs out of the target of 532310 were
distributed under UJALA scheme besides other awareness programmes has been
initiated for use of leds in government and commercial establishments. DC also
said that to improve the facility of drinking water in our schools which is
presently 84.73%, while as 96% of the Secondary schools have electricity
facility and is targeted to be improved to 100%. He also presented a
detailed account of achievements under Inderdhanush immunisation programme and
said that out of the set target of 26239 children under 2 years of
age, 25277 children were immunized while the remaining shall be covered
upto July 2018. He also informed that the target was achieved among 279
identified villages and asserted that the whole district shall be covered
under the mission by September 2018.
Moreover, Dr Naqash
briefed A K Mehta about various activities that were carried out during
the period of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. He presented a detailed account of
achievements in various sectors including health, education, agriculture etc
besides highlighting efforts to yield more progressive results in these
sectors.
A K Mehta who is
also the Nodal Officer Developmental Projects of the district took a thorough
review of implementation of all components under the Abhiyan wherein he
stressed upon the concerned to ramp up the pace of work so that the target is
achieved in time frame. He exhorted upon the officers to deploy additional men
and machinery in expediting the pace of work besides assuring every possible
support in ensuring progress and prosperity of district Baramulla.
Mehta calls for
effective coordination between various agencies so that qualitative services
are delivered for the overall welfare of the people. He also sought suggestions
and feedbacks from officers for the overall effective implementation of various
programmes and schemes in the developmental field.
Meanwhile, A K
Mehta also reviews the progress of works under "Aspirational
Districts" programme wherein he was informed by various heads of
departments about their status. He reiterated upon the concerned to work with
more enthusiasm so that the district is placed at par with other developing
districts of the country on developmental fronts.
