BANDIPORA, JULY 7: The Cooperatives
Department has recorded an annual business turnover of Rs 3.57 crore in
Bandipora district.
This
was revealed at a meeting chaired by Registrar Cooperative Societies Peerzada
Hafizullah here today during which he also took stock of functioning of the
department in the district.
The
meeting was informed that the department has provided 8230 quintals of
fertilizers costing Rs 91.78 lakh which include 4773 quintals urea, 2248
quintals DAP and 1209 quintals MOP to the farmers through existing cooperative
marketing societies and other sale outlets.
In
addition, 343844 litres of kerosene oil worth Rs 2.08 crore and other consumer
goods costing Rs 27.19 lakh were also distributed in the district during the
last financial year.
Reviewing
the performance of the current fiscal, it was given out that the department
recorded Rs 98.40 lakh business turnover during the last 3 months in the
district. This amount includes Rs. 43.44 lakh by way of K-oil, Rs 32.53 lakh by
way of fertilizers, Rs 10.62 lakh by way of poultry birds and Rs 11.81 lakh by
way of other consumer goods which were provided to people.
The
Registrar, on occasion, impressed upon the officers and other staff to work
with added dedication for the development of the sector.
Deputy Registrar cooperative societies Bandipora Syed Ashiq Hussain
besides other officers and field staff was also present on the occasion.
