BANDIPORA,
JULY 21: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary,
today inaugurated first-ever state volleyball referee clinic, 2018 at S.K
Sports Stadium here.
The
Clinic is aimed at to provide latest technical know-how and expertise about
referee course to 60 selected physical education teachers and senior players of
the state.
In his
inaugural address, the DDC said that 51 sports fields are being developed
across urban and rural areas of the district on which Rs. 1.30 crore will be
utilized. He said development of volleyball courts at village level and
provision of sports kits and tracksuits to the sports persons will also be
undertaken.
The DDC
said that a sports calendar which contains sports activities for full year
shall be released soon.
On the
occasion, SSP Bandiporaurged upon the youth to take part in sports activities
wholeheartedly.
General
Secretary J&K Volley Ball Association Vijay Manghotra said that the
participants and other sports lovers shall avail the benefits of the state
level referee clinic and learn latest techniques of sports and referring.
Among others, Chief Executive Officer VolleyBall Federation of India,
Kuldeep Manghotra, senior executive member J&K Volleyball
Association, International referee (Director Coordinator Referee Clinic)
Rameshwar Chauhan, CEO Bandipora, Secretary District Volleyball Association
besides media and other sportspersons were present at the inaugural function.
