BANDIPORA, JULY 03: District
Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai along with a
team of officers today visited Kalama and other villages situated on the banks
of Wular Lake to review the situation post incessant rains in the district.
The DDC also
took stock of the essential services and ascertained about the basic amenities
including drinking water facility, power supply, health care, road connectivity
and sanitation besides availability of ration and other essential commodities
from concerned officers.
The
DDC directed the officers to ensure that all possible facilities are provided
to the people. He also directed concerned officers to keep the strict vigil on
the water level of Wular Lake and river Jehlum in their respective areas for
the safeguard of human life and property.
Earlier DDC
inspected various markets of Bandipora town during which he stressed for
removal of encroachments from the footpath so that the pedestrians do not face
any inconvenience. He also directed to avoid parking of vehicles on roads in
the main market to ensure smooth traffic regulations. During the visit, various
public deputations met the DDC and appraised him about their day to day
problems. The DDC ensured them timely redressal of the genuine issues.
