JAMMU, JULY 11: First Aid Training
programme for the families of Army personnel concluded today.
The training
started on Saturday the July 7, 2018 was held under the aegis
of St. John Ambulance (India), Regional Centre, Jammu. A good number of family
members of Army personnel took active part in the First Aid training
programme. The training in the First-aid was imparted by a team
of Doctors comprising Dr Ranbhushan Singh, Sr. Anesthetist, Dr
Rajinder Thappa, Sr Consultant assisted by Kanchan Devi, Sup.
Pharmacist and Vironica Marwah, Field Officer.
In addition, a
Special Interactive session of half day for the serving Army Officers and JCOs
focusing on Immediate First Aid on Bullet and Splinter Injuries was also held
which was highly appreciated and it was resolved to go further to improve the
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) relating to bullet injuries in the forces.
The programme was
conducted under the close supervision of Col. Dr.
Padmini, C.O and Mr. Dinesh Gupta, Hony. Secretary, IRCS, Jammu
Region respectively. Army authorities appreciated Red Cross Society
for providing quality training especially on bullet injuries
to the civilians and the Army in particular. They requested Red Cross to impart
this kind of training among their other units also.
