JAMMU, JULY 04: Extending its
technical skills to rural areas, Govt Polytechnic for Women, Jammu (GPWJ) has
opened its extension centre under free Skill Development Vocational Training
Programme in rural area.
An initiative
under Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, sponsored
scheme of Community Development through Polytechnics, the Centre has been
opened here at Village Badgal (Kalan), in Akhnoor Tehsil in collaboration with
NGO Gram Vikas Sangh.
The extension
centre will impart training to female candidates in Garment Designing trade.
Er. Manish Kumar
(Internal Co-ordinator CDTP scheme) inaugurated the centre and informed the
students and locals that these courses have been started to impart technical
skill to educated unemployed youth especially the females of rural area.
Goutam Sharma (W/s Instructor GWPJ), B.R. Sharma
(Retd. Col), R P Sharma (Principal HSS
Sohal), Ashwani Kumar (Master HSS Sohal)
and K.C. Bhagat (Retd. Principal) were also present at the
inaugural function.
