Jammu, July 26: “Nation Survives as Soldier Sacrifices”, this
was stated by BJP State President Ravinder Raina (MLA), while he paid tributes
to the Martyrs of Kargil war. BJP Vice-President Rajeev Charak, State General
Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, State Spokesperson Brig. (Retd.) Anil Gupta, State
Secretary Ajay Pargal also accompanied the State President along with other
senior leaders.
Ravinder Raina, while paying tributes to the Kargil heroes, he said that on the eventful day of Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the success of Operation Vijay on 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been illegally seized by the Pakistani intruders. He said that the indebted public of this great Nation pays tribute to all those who served the country during Operation Vijay. Courageous soldiers of India ensured that the borders remain protected and gave an apt reaction to those who tried to disturb the atmosphere of peace.

Raina said that due to the strong back up of the robust political
leadership by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Army was able to
recapture the strategically important posts resisting evil designs by enemy
forces. He said that the Kargil War was fought in the mountains of Jammu and
Kashmir after Pakistani troops violated the trust between the Nations and
crossed the Line of Control while occupying Indian posts on the heights. It
took about three months for the Indian forces to recapture the posts, but
ultimately India did it with style and pride, he added.
Yudhvir Sethi while speaking on the occasion, said that the Jammu &
Kashmir is land of braves which has witnessed numerous acts of valour and
pride. He termed the Army persons as the asset of the Nation and stressed on
the idea of prompting youth to join Indian Army to have a love affair with the
infinite act of valour.
Brig. (Retd.) Anil Gupta threw light on the supreme valour shown by the
Indian Army-men during the hour of need. He said that the Indian Army is
capable of thwarting any such act by any hostile force at any hour so the enemy
must shun any such idea in future. He also narrated the story behind the make
of this beautiful Kargil War Memorial.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, while expressing his gratitude to the brave men
who served the Nation, thanked all those who accompanied to pay tributes to the
great sons of soil.
On the occasion, BJP District President Baldev Singh Billawaria, State
Press Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Mahila Morcha State President Rajni Sethi,
BJYM State President Vikas Choudhary, Govind Sareen, Naresh Sharma, Ankush Gupta,
Harbans Choudhary, Shailja Gupta, Kunti Jasrotia were among the prominent BJP
leaders who paid their tributes to the Kargil Martyrs.
Meanwhile
BJP District Jammu West led by its President Ayodhya Gupta also conducted a
programme at Shourya Smarak, Ambphalla to pay rich tributes to the heroes of
Kargil war. All district office bearers, other senior leaders and school
children also participated in the even to pay homage to the martyrs. The events
of the war were recalled and the supreme sacrifices made by the valiant Indian
soldiers were remembered on the occasion.
