RAMBAN, JULY 09: A workshop
for imparting training to medical staff for the proper implementation of the
Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination programme was organized here today
The workshop was
organized by the National Public Health Surveillance Project of World Health
Organization, Jammu in collaboration with the Directorate of Family Welfare,
Maternity Child Health & Immunization J&K.
Scheduled to start
from September 1, the children from 9 months to 16 years will be
vaccinated against Measles and Rubella diseases under the campaign being
implemented in two phases.
The students
of all the government and private schools besides Madrasas will be vaccinated
in the first phase, while a door to door campaign will be carried out in second
outreach phase.
Speaking on the
occasion, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ramban, Dr. Saifuddin Khan exhorted the
trainees to learn the procedure to successful implementation of the MR
Vaccination Campaign in the district.
Deputy
CMO, Dr Mohammed Iqbal Bhat also addressed the trainees. The Resource Persons,
Dr. Ravinder Pal Singh and Dr. Akshay Kumar trained the staff through
Power-Point presentation.
During the workshop was conducted in two sessions wherein Block Medical
Officers Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Ramban, Doctors, Zonal
Education Officers, In-Charge Child Development Project Officers, Community
Health Officers, Paramedical staff and teachers were trained in micro and macro
planning, required documentation and arrangements for ensuring the hundred percent
vaccination.
