KULGAM, AUGUST 11: A full-fledged District Level
Centre for Women (DLCW) will come up in Kulgam under centrally-sponsored Mahila
Shakti Kendra (MSK) scheme soon.
This was
disclosed by Mission Director MSK J&K Rifat Aarif while chairing a meeting
with the officers of ICDS here.
Among others,
District Programme Officer Sheikh Ghulam Hassan, State Resource Person for
Women Sameena Mir, all CDPOs and Supervisors attended the meeting.
It was said
that the DLCW will come up in the district for which the land has been already
identified. It was hoped that the Centre will serve as a platform
for skill upgradation, information dissemination and grievance redressal system
for the womenfolk of the district.
The meeting was
told that the DLCW will evolve into a multipurpose centre with a focus on
facilitating women empowerment.
The centre on
completion will house a common window clearance system through which the
identified women entrepreneurs, SHGs will receive direct benefits under
development and welfare schemes.
Earlier,
DPO highlighted the progress achieved so far regarding the launch of the
project and assured to mobilize the staff for creating awareness about the
scheme.
