SRINAGAR, AUGUST 11: Principal
Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport Departments,
Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today
convened a meeting here to take a detailed review of various projects under
Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)- NABARD.
The meeting was attended by Directors of Animal, Sheep
Husbandry Kashmir and Jammu, Deputy General Manager NABARD officials from
Planning Monitoring & Development and Finance Departments besides other
concerned.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary was informed that since
2010-11, 143 projects at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore have been supported
under RIDF -NABARD till date, of which 79 projects at an estimated cost of Rs
11.50 crore have been completed.
It was said that allocation under RIDF-XXIV for the year
2018-19 is Rs 35.16 crore with an amount of Rs 6.63 crore for ongoing 41
projects and remaining Rs 28.52 crore for new projects.
During the meeting, Samoon directed for
formulation and submission of DPRs for new projects in Animal and Sheep
Husbandry sector within a fortnight.
He also asked the concerned to expedite execution of
non-starter projects and furnish quarterly progress reports to NABARD for
timely release of funds.
Samoon emphasized upon the need for the development of infrastructure in
the Animal and Sheep Husbandry sector to cater to the growing need of milk,
meat, and poultry products for growing population.
