RAMBAN,
AUGUST 22: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety
across the district Ramban today. All the Mosques were decorated suiting to the
occasion and markets witnessed hustle and bustle of people.
The main
congregations took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban, Eidgah Gool, Eid Gah
Batote and Eidgah Banihal where large number of devotees performed Nimaz-e-Eid
and prayed for peace, development and prosperity of society.
The
people exchanged pleasantries and embraced each others. Elaborate security and
other necessary arrangements were made by district administration for smooth
celebration of Eid festival. Various officers from administration were also
present on the occasion.
The Deputy
Commissioner, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, SSP Ramban, Anita
Sharma, ADC Gurvinder Jit Singh, ACR, Vevek Puri, ASP Sanjay Kotwal, Tehsildar
Parmod Kumar along with other officers of district
administration extended greetings to the Muslim brethren.
“Such religious
festivals inspire us to follow the spiritual preachings of great saints and
Sufis, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of humanity, to lead a peaceful
and prosperous life. Eid-ul- Azah reminds us of our responsibility towards weak
and needy people and inculcates the spirit of sharing happiness and joy with
everyone”, said the Deputy Commissioner.
He greeted
the people of Ramban and said that such occasions would promote unity, communal
harmony and brotherhood among people.
The reports of Eid celebrations also poured from Sangaldan, Ramsoo,
Chanderkote, Rajgarh and other pockets of the district.
