Inter-district football tournament begins in Poonch

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav today inaugurated Divisional level inter-district football tournament of Girls and Boys here at Boys High secondary School, Poonch.

Principal HSS Poonch, ZPEOs, Physical Education Teachers, Masters, coaches and players from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajori and Poonch were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the DC called for motivating the young generation for participating in large numbers in sports activities. He further stressed on providing more such platforms for the local talent especially the female players to display their ability and encourage them to compete at higher level.

A total of 368 players (160 girls and 208 boys) from 5 districts including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch are participating in the three-day long tournament.

Meanwhile, the DC also visited Government Model High Secondary School (Boys) Poonch and interacted with the students. He was apprised about the infrastructure issues of the school. The DC ensured to redress the issues at the earliest and further directed the concerned officials to ensure proper cleanliness in the school premises.
