         RAJOURI JUNE 07: District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today held a detailed interaction with regularised volunteers of National Youth Core and Nehru Yuva Kendra and discussed with them the plan for utilising their services in various sectors.
          A total of 350 NYC volunteers having a vast experience of working in various departments have been regularised recently. Around 298 of them are being deployed in various departments and to oversee different projects.
          The DDC informed the NYC volunteers that a detailed exercise has been done for profiling of the regularised NYCs to assign them different sectors and departments. He elaborated that district administration has devised a performance- driven plan for allocation of departments and assignments with special emphasis on educational qualification, experience and voluntary contribution in development administration.
          Dr Shahid said that these officials will act as ambassadors of change and will be deployed in activities at cutting edge level to act as a stringer bridge between Government and public,  public service delivery, governance feedback and improvement.
          He said that special assignments like construction of bunkers, management of libraries and study centres, implementation of flagship programmes like MGNREGA, Land record digitisation, Swachh Bharat Mission etc will be assigned to these officials. They will also manage control rooms to review the service delivery in essential services sectors of water supply, power supply and health among others. They will seek public complaints, grievances and demands which will be addressed by the departments.
          The officials will be deployed in various departments and offices as well as projects at district, sub-district and Tehsil level. They have been given a proforma to indicate choices of various sectors based on their qualification and experience for optimum utilisation of human resource.
          A workshop of these regularised officials and officers of assigned departments has also been notified for better coordination and effective utilisation of their services. The NYC regularised volunteers expressed gratitude for this innovative intervention to utilise their services in a unique way and committed for extraordinary performance in any sector assigned to them.
          CPO A H Choudhary, ACR A Q Mir and DYSSO Swarm Singh were also present in the meeting.

RAJOURI, APRIL 11: District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired a meeting today to finalize arrangements for Gram Swaraj Abhiyan to be organized at various locations across the district from 14th April to 5th May 2018.
SE EM&RE Manhar Gupta, PO ICDS Abdul Rashid, ACD Noor Alam, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, ExEn EM& RE Munshi Khan, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, AD FCS & CA Javed Choudhary and officers from Education, Agriculture, Panchayats, Banks and allied departments attended the meeting.
The Gram Swaraj Abhyan aims at creating   awareness among people about various schemes and take benefits to grass roots level. It also endeavours to promote accountability of Gram Panchayat in implementation of these schemes and strengthen Panchayati Raj. April 14will be celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti marked by programmes on social justice, April 18 as Swachh Bharat Parv, April 20 as Ujjwala Yojana,April 24 as Panchayati Raj Divas, April 28 as Gram Shakti Abhiyan, April 30 as Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan, 2nd May as Kissan Kalyan Karyashala and May 5th as Aajivika & Kaushal Vikas Mela.
The speech of Prime Minister on 14th April will be live streamed at selected blocks and panchayats. Meanwhile the villages selected include Lam, Qila Darhal, Sarya, Khamba, Rajpur Kamila, Nonial, Bhajnowa and Hanjana Thakra all located along LoC.
The DDC directed the departments for greater public participation and involvement of stakeholders in conducting the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and involvement of print and electronic media including radio for reaching out to masses in far flung areas, apart from the ongoing mass contact programme already initiated by the district administration. He emphasised to involve the Press Club Rajouri for a robust public information campaign.
Authorities aim to cover more than 10,000 beneficiaries to be covered under various schemes across the district including connections under Ujjwala Yojana, health related schemes, swachh baharat and various central schemes. Block Development Officers have been deployed as nodal officers to coordinate with departments and sectors apart from organising public programmes.

RAJOURI, JANUARY 19:  District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary reviewed arrangements for Republic Day celebrations in a meeting held here today.
Arrangements pertaining to seating, barricading, traffic management, security, sanitation, water and power supply, cultural programmes, public address system and parade contingents were discussed in detail and finalized in the meeting.
While praising officers for their coordinated efforts in organizing  Republic-Day function, DDC impressed upon them to deliver the assigned duties professionally and avoid last minute rush. Officers were also directed to ensure participation of all their employees in the day of National importance.
The DDC asked the team of officers for culture programmes to select items highlighting local culture, national integrity, secularism, pluralism and patriotism.
It was given out in the meeting that the National flag will be hoisted at DPL Rajouri by the chief guest, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs at 9.00 AM. Total 26 parade contingents and 10 culture troupes are finalized for participation in the function.
Assistant Commissioner Development Noor Alam informed that as per the direction of DDC the department has constructed 4500 sq ft shed at DPL with sitting capacity of more 1000 persons.
Dr. Shahid informed that a full dress rehearsal of the function will be held on 24th of January to give a finishing touch to the preparations. Arrangements for “At Home” celebrations of R-Day was also discussed and decided that the District Information Officer and Cultural Officer, Cultural Academy will arrange a Cultural evening on the occasion.
It was also decided that the district administration will felicitate meritorious students and employees who have preformed remarkably in the field of public service delivery. DDC directed the concerned to submit lists of such students and employees for reward.
Review meetings were also held in all subdivisions of the District to finalize the arrangements for Republic Day Celebrations.

Among others ADDC A S Chib, SSP Yougal Manhas, Addl SP Mohd Yousuf, ExEns of different engineering departments besides other district officers of the concerned departments were also present in the meeting.

RAJOURI, JANUARY 5: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired a meeting of border residents and field officers to review relief and compensation measures.
Prominent representatives from Sunderbani, Nowshera, Doongi and Manjakote areas along the LoC attended the meeting.
DDC informed that apart from 100 bunkers under construction Government has given approval for 4918 individual bunkers and 372 community bunkers.
Detailed discussion was held with locals, engineers, army officers and administrative heads regarding modalities for construction of bunkers in a time-bound manner. Each community bunker of 800 SqFt will accommodate 40 persons and individual bunker of 60 SqFt will accommodate 8 persons. This project will create safe accommodation for 54000 people.
Meanwhile proposal submitted by the district administration for coverage of relief and compensation in favour of border residents and migrants as per norms of State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) has been approved which will be a major relief for border residents who are often forced to migrate due to ceasefire violation.
Dr Shahid informed that now border migrants at relief camps are entitled for Rs 1800/- (Adults) and Rs 1325/- (Child) for one month. Besides, compensation for damages to crops has been approved at the rate of Rs 37,500 per hectare and compensation for loss of livestock has been approved at Rs 30,000 for large animals and Rs 3000 for small animals. The losses and damages of houses and household items have also been covered for compensation.
Speaking on the occasion, the border residents appreciated and lauded the efforts of district administration for a proactive redressal of their issues.
The DDC informed that process has been initiated for coverage of all unconnected household for providing power supply which will cover 6200 houses along the LoC and work is scheduled to commence shortly. He also briefed about major thrust of Government for road connectivity for which a number of internal roads connecting hamlets have been approved.

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 27: District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary finalized the arrangements for celebrations of Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi (SAW), in a meeting, held here today.
The DDC enjoined upon the EO Municipality to maintain proper cleanliness of roads, lanes and by lanes, routes of processions and all mosques with special emphasis on Eid Gah. He was also directed to ensure repair of all non-functional street lights before the day of Eid.
DDC asked Sr. Superintendent of Police to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the venue of congregation, around mosques and along the route of procession besides putting in place a comprehensive traffic management plan to avoid unnecessary traffic congestion.
It was also decided that Ex.En. PDD will ensure uninterrupted power supply on the day and arrange one Gen. Set at Eid Gah whereas Ex.En. PHE was assigned the task of providing drinking water at Eid Gah, logistics for barricading besides ensuring routine water supply in the town. CMO was directed for deployment of critical care ambulances and required staff at the venue of congregation.
The meeting also decided that Administrator Auqaf Rajouri will provide the necessary items in the Eid Gah for convenience of devotees.
Moreover, AD FCS & CA and other concerned officers were asked to intensify market checking for ensuring that the consumers are given quality edibles on approved rates.
