REASI, OCTOBER 07- The GHS School Salal won the dance competition as the Kala Utsav Festival on the theme Ek Bharat Sareshth Bharat concluded here today.
Meanwhile GHSS Laiter topped in theatre, HS Surjandhar won visual arts and crafts competition   and Govt Girl HS Pouni took lead in music in the district level competition organized by Education Department  to showcase local music, art, culture and dance of different areas.
The student teams were drawn from 14 high and Higher secondary schools from across six zones and competed in four components viz. Music, dance, and theatre and visual arts.
It is worthwhile to say that all the participating students teams of district Reasi represented their culture in best way to impress the audience. The performances included local songs, dance & music, folk art and other activities related local culture and traditions.
Pertinently, the four top performing teams will represent the district at province level competition and thereafter, the best assessed teams of three regions shall participate in state level Kala Utsav.
The Chief Guest, DDC Prasana Ramaswamy G, appreciated the efforts of the students for representing their local art and culture through different forms. He encouraged them to come forward in all fields and work with full dedication.

Other present on the occasion were Chief Education Officer B.S. Jaral, ZEOs, ZEPOs amid huge gathering of locals, students, teachers, institutional heads and guests.

KATHUA, OCTOBER 04:  A district Level Kala Utsav competition was organised by Education department under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) here today at Rajiv Gandhi College of Education.
The competition was held in various performing arts including Music, Theatre, Dance and Visual Arts.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar was the chief guest. 
In his address, the DC said that the competition is an attempt to preserve the rich cultural heritage of state and country.  He said by getting such opportunities the   potential   students of Kathua district would be able to participate in national level competitions. He also urged the teachers and student community to give more opportunity to the child with special needs.
Last year a team from GHSS Billawar secured first position at the state and third position at the national level kala utsav in music by presenting Dogri Lok Sangeet Geetru, he said adding this shows the district has no dearth of talent.  He called upon young artists to work with more zeal and dedication and bring laurels to the district as well as to the state. He said district administration would make more endeavours to provide platform to the budding artists so that they can carry forward the legacy of our rich culture.

Earlier CEO Kathua informed that the contestants of todays event are winners of competitions organised at inter- school and inter- zone levels earlier.


Over 300 students participate in cultural event
UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 21: MLA Udhampur, Pawan Kumar Gupta today inaugurated   district level cultural event Kala Utsav here at Government Higher Secondary School, Boys.
Over 300 students from 11 educational zones participated in the mega cultural event organized under Rashtriya Madyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
 Students from different zones displayed their talent in four art forms which included folk singing, Tamil dance form, theatre and visual arts. The main theme of the ustav was Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta was the Chief Guest and District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar was the guest of Honour on the occasion.
 In his inaugural address, the MLA appreciated the organizers for holding such a colourful programme. He said that such programmes would help   to preserve rich   culture and provide a platform to nurture, promote and showcase the artistic talent of the students.
At the end, the participants were felicitated by the Chief Guest.

Also present on the occasion were Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Education officer, J.R Bhardwaj, Principal DIET, Principal HSS boys, Mr. Ved Parkash, teachers and students of different schools.
