SRINAGAR, MAY 14: Sh M.Y. Tarigami, MLA Kulgam, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan today.
Among other matters Shri Tarigami informed Governor about the discussions held at the All Party Meeting convened by the State Government last week and pointed to the subsisting challenges in the path of regaining normalcy in the Valley.
Governor re-iterated his view, repeatedly expressed over the past several years, about the crucial importance of leaders of all political, religious, social, economic and other organisations in the State, including even those who have vastly different views, getting together to evolve an agreed approach which is founded in satisfying the basic minimum aspirations of the various segments of society. Observing that continuing unrest has involved not only heavy human and economic losses but also jeopardised the career prospects of several lakh youth whose academic schedules continue to be adversely affected, Governor urged Shri Tarigami to continue his sustained endeavours for promoting the welfare of the State and its people.



JAMMU, JANUARY 23: Minister for Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli, chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments in district Kulgam here today.
The meeting was attended by MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Director Animal Husbandry, Kashmir Mohammad Yousuf Chaproo, Director Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, Director Fisheries R N Pandita and other senior officers of the Departments.
During the meeting, MLA briefed the Minister about the scope and potential of the animal, sheep and fisheries sectors in the district and urged for improvement in the existing infrastructure and other facilities under these sectors. He also asked the government for setting up of new poultry, sheep units and fish ponds in the district so that educated unemployed youth of the district could avail employment opportunities.
Kohli assured the legislator that due consideration will be given to the issues raised in the meeting. He directed the concerned officers to ensure every possible help in further improving the functioning of animal, sheep and fisheries sectors in the district.
Earlier, Head of the Departments presented details of achievements registered in their respective sectors under different shemes in the Kulgam.

Addressing the meeting, Kohli said that about 70% of the rural population is involved in agriculture and allied sectors and said that the animal, sheep and fisheries departments can play a significant role in boosting the rural economy. He stressed on effective implementation of the schemes for larger interest of youth of the State. He asked the officers to work with utmost dedication and achieve the fixed targets in a time bound manner.

Sh. Tarigami discussed with the Governor issues relating to the inadequacies, particularly during the winter, which created serious difficulties for the people, especially those living in the rural areas.

Sh. Tarigami also discussed with the Governor the consequences of continuing delays in the implementation of development programmes and the difficulties faced by the people from the functioning of the Health and Education departments.


          SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 04: Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member J&K Legislative Assembly from Kangan, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
          Mian Altaf held extensive discussions with the Governor regarding the obtaining challenges facing the State and the various major developmental issues which require high priority attention.

Governor appreciated Mian Altafs concerns, and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting harmony and peoples welfare in his area and to devote particular attention for ensuring that the career interests of students were not allowed to get vitiated by adverse factors and influences.

Sh. Tarigami discussed with the Governor issues relating to the maintenance of peace and normalcy in the State and matters relating to the balanced development of Kulgam constituency.

Appreciating Sh. Tarigamis various concerns the Governor urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting a peaceful environment which would enable the development and welfare of the people of his area and to particularly counsel parents and teachers to see that students were kept away  from getting involved with law and order situations.
