New Delhi, Mar 28: The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the Delhi High Court order -- which had asked the Election Commission of India to consider allotting the ‘pressure cooker’ poll symbol to the AIADMK faction led by TTV Dhinakaran -- and said that the faction led by Dhinakaran cannot use the 'pressure cooker' as party symbol till it heard the matter again.
The three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice AK Sikri, asked the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court to decide the main case by April.
"TTV Dinakaran, can't use the pressure cooker as party symbol, till the apex court hears the matter again," the two-judge Bench of the top court said.
The top court said, till the next hearing in the case, TTV can't use 'pressure cooker' as party symbol.
The election symbol dispute arose between the EPS (E Palani Samy), O Paneer Selvam (OPS) and TTV Dinakaran camps.
The Delhi High Court in its order had recently directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to allot pressure cooker symbol to TTV Dinakaran faction.
It was subsequently challenged by the EPS and OPS factions before the top court last week, which had said and listed the matter for further hearing for Wednesday. UNI

Chennai, Feb 24: The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu celebrated the 70th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa by unveiling  her life-statue bronze statue at the party office in the city on Saturday.
Chief Minister and AIADMK Joint Coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister and Coordinator O Panneerselvam unveiled the seven ft high statue in the presence of senior party leaders, Ministers, MPS and MLAs.
The statue was installed adjacent to AIADMK Founder MGR's statue at the party office. After unveiling the statue, both Mr Palaniswami and Mr Panneerselvam launched the 'Namadhu Puratchi Thalaivi Amma', a Tamil daily, that would be the official mouthpiece of the party.
The decision to launch its own official organ was taken at AIADMK meeting last month after the existing 'Dr Namathu MGR' and 'Jaya TV' started by Ms Jayalalithaa went into the control of the family members of deposed AIADMK leaders V K Sasikala and her nephew and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran after the death of the former Chief Minister.
The AIADMK was also mulling to launch its own TV channel.
Later, Mr Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, along with senior party leaders, paid floral tributes at the statue of Ms Jayalalithaa and MGR to mark the occasion and distributed sweets to the scores of AIADMK cadres, who had thronged the party headquarters.
The Chief Minister also presented a golden ring to the person, who sculpted the statue of Ms Jayalalithaa.
The Party office was tastefully decorated to mark the birth anniversary of  Ms Jayalalithaa and a 70 kg cake was cut to mark the occasion.
A slew of functions were organised by various wings of the party across the state to mark the occasion.
Ms Jayalalithaa's pet project 'Amma Two-wheeler subsidy scheme' would be launched later in the evening by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
To mark Ms Jayalalithaa's birth anniversary, 70 lakh saplings would be planted across the state and it would also be launched by Mr Modi, that would significantly enhance the green cover of the state. UNI

Chennai, Jan 8: The Principal Opposition DMK and its allies boycotted the maiden address of Tamil Nadu Assembly, which began here on Monday.
Soon after Governor Banwarilal Purohit rose to read his first address to the august house after assuming office, Leader of the Opposition and DMK Working
President M K Stalin sought to raise some issues.
When they tried to disrupt his address, the Governor said they could raise whatever issues they wanted during the debate and advised them to resume their seats.
As the Governor went ahead with the address, Mr Stalin led his party members out of the House.
He was followed by the members of its allies, the Congress and the IUML.
Three MLAs, supporting sidelined leader and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran, who won on AIADMK symbol--Karunaas, Tamimum Ansari and Thaniarasu--also boycotted the Governor's address.
Later, talking to reporters outside the assembly premises, Mr Stalin said the Governor, instead of directing Chief Minister Edapaddi K Palaniswami to seek a trust vote (after
his government fell short of majority when 18 MLAs withdrew their support and subsequently disqualified by the Speaker), reading out the address prepared by the ruling AIADMK was against democracy.
He said the 'minority' government, which has only the support of 111 MLAs as per the Election Commission, has no right to continue in office and it was against the tenets
of the Constitution. UNI
