Ayodhya, Dec 5: Prohibitory orders were enforced on Tuesday in the twin cities of Ayodhya-Faizabad ahead of the 25th anniversary of disputed structure demolition.
Assembly of four or more persons in one place and processions by any community have been banned under Sec 144 CrPC even as elaborate security arrangements were made in the temple city of Ayodhya to prevent any untoward incident from happening in the communally-charged district.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) geared up to observe the day as 'shaurya diwas' (bravery day) while Muslim organisations planned to observe the day as ‘yaum-e-gham (day of sorrow) and yaum-e-syaah (black day).
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Subhash Singh Bhagel said here on Tuesday said that elaborate security arrangements were in place, including deployment of paramilitary forces.
“Special security cover would be given to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Security arrangements in Ayodhya-Faizabad will be handled by four ASPs, 10 Dy SPs, 10 companies of central paramilitary forces, two companies of rapid action force (RAF), 400 constables, one platoon of women commandos, besides district police force,” he said.
Mr Baghel said all vehicles entering Ayodhya would be screened from today and, if necessary, entry of vehicles into Ayodhya could be banned. “All the programmes would be allowed inside the temple or any compound and nothing would be permitted on the road or open places,” the SSP said. UNI

Ayodhya/Lucknow, Nov 14: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has turned down the proposal by spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for a meeting over the vexed issue of Ayodhya. 
Sri Shri Ravi Shankar is expected to reach Lucknow on Tuesday evening and meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday evening. On November 16, he will be visiting Ayodhya to meet the stakeholders in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid issue. Though the AIMPLB has declined to meet Sri Sri, observers feel that there is a probability of some board members meeting him in their personal capacity. Though no official was willing to speak to the media, high-level sources in the AIMPLB told UNI on Tuesday that AIMPLB as well as the Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) have refused to meet Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Sources said AIMPLB counsel and convener of the Committee Jafaryab Jilani, too, had refused to meet the spiritual leader in Lucknow. "Sri Sri has no concrete formula for resolving the issue and Muslim community would not back down on the dispute," the sources said, adding that AIMPLB wants the spiritual guru to first convince Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on the issue and then get back to the Board through a written communication. The sources added that AIMPLB stands by its resolution passed in the national executive held in April this year.  However, AIMPLB member and eminent Sunni leader, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, is likely to meet Sri Sri in his personal capacity. On the other hand, leaders close to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also confirmed that AIMPLB and BMAC have declined to accept the meeting proposal. The spiritual leader is also likely to meet Shia Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi in Lucknow on Wednesday. Rizvi had recently met Sri Sri in Bangalore. UNI

Jammu, Nov 4: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Praveen Togadia on Saturday said the Interlocutor appointed by the Centre must focus on return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland than holding talks with Separatists.
"It is good that the Centre has appointed Dineshwar Sharma as special representative to
Jammu and Kashmir but his focus should be on return of Kashmiri Hindus to the Valley 
and decades old discrimination with Jammu," Dr Togadia told reporters here.
The firebrand leader is on three-day visit to Jammu to meet VHP cadre, hold meetings, review political scenario and launch 'Hindu Health Line'.
"Let us see whether the Kashmiri Pandits return back to their homeland in three months or 
not," he said and added, "there is no fun of holding dialogue with Separatists and Pak agents."
Dr Togadia also said stone pelters and terrorists should be dealt firmly and they should not be spared.
"There is no sympathy for stone-pelters, terrorists and separatists. They should be dealt firmly," 
said the VHP leader.
On Article 35-A, he said no such law has been passed by the Indian Parliament and added, "Article 35-A and Article 370 must be revoked."
"Kashmir centric people are getting undue benefits under the shade of Article 370 and Article 35-A and it should be abrogated," he asserted.
"All states are equal in India. There is no question of special status to J&K," he added and said all special powers and recognitions to the state must be withdrawn.
On Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's remarks that if there is any tampering with Article 35-A, nobody will carry Tri-colour in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Togadia said, "You (Ms Mufti) do not worry about Tiranga. Togadia with crores of Hindus will carry it to J&K."
"You (Ms Mufti) save your chair and we will save Tiranga," said Dr Togadia.
He, however, also said discrimination with Jammu must come to an end.
He also slammed BJP for despite being into the government have failed in meeting aspirations of people of Jammu.
On illegal settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu, Dr Togadia said, "they are threat to the society and illegally settled."
"They must be deported back, which is in the interest of the country," he added. UNI

New Delhi, Jul 31 :  The Opposition Congress today targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing his government of directly or indirectly encouraging cow vigilantes and organisations like the VHP and the Bajrang Dal which he said were inciting violence against minorities and Dalits, leading to increasing incidents of lynching in the name of cow protection. 'These incidents are denting the country's image in the world. This is happening in Modi's new India. It should be brought out as to who was behind it. It is the NDA government which was directly or indirectly encouraging those involved in criminal and communal incidents,' Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said initiating the much awaited debate on lynching incidents under Rule 193 in the House. The House witnessed stormy scenes as the Treasury benches frequently interrupted Mr Kharge raising Points of Order several times but the Speaker let him continue. Mr Kharge said these things were being caused to happen to support the kind of philosophy the Prime Minister was trying to establish. Mr Kharge said the Prime Minister was talking about everything under the sun on his 'Mann Ki Baat' but had chosen not to speak against lynching. 'And when the Prime Minister finally gives a statement against lynching, it has no effect as the incidents continue to happen,' he said. 'In fact there was a great gap between the words and deeds of the Prime Minister,' Mr Kharge added. He said any kind of "mob lynching" is bad and unacceptable."The attack either on Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs are unwarranted....," he said, adding that in most cases minorities, Dalits and weaker sections were under attack. He said these incidents were not a few isolated and stray incidents and wanted to know if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government were serious about these - how many of those responsible for such attacks had been booked. "In many cases, MPs and MLAs have been directly encouraging such elements in the name of Gau-rakhsa (Cow-vigilante)....the philosophy you want to promote is responsible for such incidents," the Congress leader alleged. BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey said the Congress member could not raise the cases which are already in the court. But Mr Kharge insisted he was within rights as he was only naming the incidents. "You are not taking actions," Mr Kharge charged the ruling side. There was a great protest from the Government, expressed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar when Mr Kharage quoted from former president Pranab Mukherjee's statement expressing worry over the incidents of lynching as he argued that Mr Kharge according to Rule 352 could not quote from the President to influence his debate, on which the Congress Member said he was only referring to the former president and quoting his statement which was on record.
