ADDC exhorts officers for strict enforcement of polythene ban

          

  RAMBAN MAY 30: Additional District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Nath Sadhu, today convened a review meeting of officers and called for strict enforcement of polythene ban to realize the objective of polythene-free village campaign.

 The ADDC, while reviewing the progress of the anti-polythene campaign in the district, directed the officials of Municipal Committees (MC) Ramban, Pollution Control Board (PCB) to ensure complete ban on entry of polythene into the district.

ADDC also took stock of anti polythene drive initiated by the Department of Rural Development and others in the district. In this connection, he urged upon the concerned agencies, particularly BDOs to make people aware about hazardous effects of polythene use on environment and personal health as well. He said along with general public, students shall also be involved to make this drive a success.

          The meeting, among others, was attended by ACD Ramban, DPO, and Divisional Officer State Pollution Control, BDO’s, Executive officers of municipal committees and other concerned.

 Calling for synergy among various departments, ADDC asked the officials to work together to make the district polythene free zone and ensure visible change on ground.

         It was informed that during the anti Polythene campaign lot of polythene bags were collected from the shopkeepers and pedestrians. 

            Meanwhile, ADDC directed the ACD to achieve targets of ODF Panchyats. He also instructed the officers to speed up follow-up process after involving local people including Lambardars and Chowkidars so that fixed targets under Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) and Swach Bharat Abhiyan are achieved well within the fixed time line.
