New Delhi, Aug 19 : Questioning the silence of the authorities on the Gorakhpur tragedy wherein 63 children died in a hospital in the district due to lack of Oxygen, industrialist and the son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Robert Vadra, today said the nation needed answers from the government on the tragedy. In a post on Facebook, Mr Vadra said,'I'm still wondering, what happened to the case n findings of the 63 children who had died in Gorakhpur. Was it just news for 2 days. We need answers... ' He said answers were needed on the actual cause of the incident, fixing accountability of the incident, the compensation for the affected families as well as on whether steps have been taken to ensure that such an incident does not occur again. 'What was the prognosis (actual cause of the incident). How do we make sure the incident does not occur again? How have the families been consoled n taken care of ? Why is the media not highlighting n following up this case ? Who is responsible n accountable ? Is it just going to be forgotten ?,' Mr Vadra asked in his post. Over 60 children have died in a Gorakhpur hospital since August 7 allegedly due to lack of Oxygen. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is on a visit to Gorakhpur today to meet the families of the children. UNI
