Rajnath to participate in Telangana Liberation day celebration on Sep 17

Hyderabad, Aug 17 :  Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in the Telangana Liberation day Celebration being organized by BJP here on September 17. The ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ is celebrated on September 17, as on that day the erstwhile Nizam state was merged with the Indian Union in 1948, State BJP President Dr Laxman told reporters after inaugurating a newly constructed hall and rooms at BJP state office premises here today. The party in the state executive meeting held at Warangal last month had decided to organise State-wide agitations on Telangana Liberation Day (September 17) to mount pressure on the State government to declare it an official function. We are holding a public meeting in Hyderabad to mark the Telangana Liberation day ( September 17). Mr Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir were going to participate in the meeting, Dr Laxman said. “We have been demanding the government for the past three years to conduct Liberation Day officially but so far, nothing has come out,” he said. The party would celebrate Liberation day officially if come to power in the state, he contended. UNI
