New Delhi, Aug 14 : Duty Magistrate Pankaj Sharma today remanded to 14-days judicial custody in a terror funding case, four Kashmiri separatists, including Altaf Ahmed Shah, popularly known as Altaf Fantoosh, son-in-law of hardline Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
The three others, accused of waging war against the nation, were Peer Saifullah, Mehrajuddin Kalwal and Nayeem Khan.
Seven persons were arrested on July 24 on the charges of funding of terror and subversive activities in the Kashmir Valley.
NIA alleged that the accused were waging war against the nation and were involved in various offences punishable under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. It also alleged that the money was being raised to fund separatist and terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The other three separatist leaders, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Mohamad Akbar Khanday, were sent to judicial custody till September 1 in this case .
The accused, it was alleged, were involved in fomenting unrest by way of anti-national demonstrations and bandhs. Geelani's close aides Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar and Peer Saifullah, were arrested by the NIA from the Valley. Shah was in the custody of Jammu and Kashmir Police, which had put him under preventive detention immediately after Eid last month.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted before the court that further interrogation of the accused was not required in this case and sought their judicial custody.
