Razdhan inaugurated one day Training Programme on Crop Cutting Experiments
(CCEs) on the field crops of Paddy, Maize, Potato & Saffron under Pradhan
Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
The
programme was organised by Deputy Mission Director PMFBY K. K. Sharma, SMS (RL)
under the instruction of Mission Director PMFBY (J&K) Altaf Aejaz Andrabi.
The training programme was attended by Deputy Director Agriculture (Central),
C. M. Sharma, Agriculture Economist, S.K Kapahi, Chief Agriculture Officer,
Jammu R. L. Bhagat. CAO Poonch, Romesh Mishri, SMS (DL) Udhampur, Ravinder
Thaploo, Deputy Director (P&S), Shashi Bala besides District liaison
Officers, Field Functionaries and representative from the Implementing
Agencies.
Speaking
on the occasion Director Agriculture Jammu laid stress on conducting of Crop
Cutting Experiments (CCEs) @ 16 crops cuts per notified crop in each notified
block as required under the operational guidelines of the scheme. He also apprised the
house that there will be a single series of CCEs for the general crop
production estimates and will be the ultimate factor in the assessment of
losses occurred to the crop due to various risks under coverage of the scheme.
He also emphasized that these CCEs will form the base for the yield assessment
of crops at block level and will determine the crop losses if any, over the
threshold yield.
Deputy
Mission Director, PMFBY gave a detailed presentation on importance of CCEs,
drawing of random numbers, marking of the plot including the process of
threshing and drying. Pradeep Kumar, Liaison Officer, PMFBY gave a detailed
lecture on practical aspects of the CCEs. Shrikant Sharma, VAEA gave a detailed
presentation on uploading of crop cut- data on mobile app (CCEs –Agri) for
recording and management of crop cut data on the National portal (agri-insurance.gov.in)
for its validity.
