JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23- As part of Navrarta festival 2017, a
cultural programme was organized by Tourism Department at Kol Kandoli Temple
Nagrota here today.
MLA, Devender Singh Rana, was the chief guest on the ocassion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana lauded the efforts of the Tourism
Department and urged upon the need of organizing more such programmes. He
extended best wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Navratra
festival.
Director Tourism Jammu, Smita Sethi, in her address, spoke about the
religious importance of Kol Kandoli Temple and said that the temple situated in
Nagrota at a distance of 14 km from Jammu believed to be good to visit before
starting the journey for Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The temple is also known as
first glimpse Kol Kandoli of Mata Vaishno Devi, she further informed.
On the occasion, MLA along with Director Tourism and other officers
flagged off Manokamna Yatra Bus proceeding to visit all Hindu religious places
enroute and adjoining Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Katra.
Meanwhile, a cultural programme was organized on the occasion which was
witnessed by a jam packed audience including the pilgrims.,
Among others Deputy Director Publicity Shokat Mehmood, Deputy Director
Subah Mehta, Assistant Director Tourism Rupali Mahajan and large number of people
were present on the occasion.
