Urges medicos to put in best efforts to
improve services
SRINAGAR,
OCTOBER 16: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today
paid a surprise visit to G.B. Pant Hospital here and took stock of the Medicare
and other related facilities available for the patients.
The Minister took a round of wards, laboratory and other diagnostic units and
received detailed feedback about the flow of patients, availability of
medicines, manpower, status of diagnostic gadgets, sanitation, ambulatory
service and parking facilities in the hospital. He also interacted with the
visitors, attendants and enquired about the facilities available there.
While expressing satisfaction with the services in the hospital, the
Minister called upon the hospital administration, doctors and para-medical
staff to put in extra efforts to provide best services to the patients. He said
people have high expectations from the doctors and paramedics, and they must
fulfil these with missionary spirit and medical ethics.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that present BJP-PDP Government
headed by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is committed to providing best
medicare services to the people across the State, for which all necessary steps
for up-gradation of health infrastructure have been taken during the past three
years. He said that serious efforts are being made to fill all the vacant posts
in all health institutions and concerned recruitment agencies have been
directed to make the selection for all the referred posts on a fast-track basis.
To ensure supply of quality drugs and diagnostic equipment to all the
hospitals, the Government has appropriately strengthened the J&K Medical
Supplies Corporation Limited. He said all concerned heads of institutions have
been asked to put in their timely requirements to the Corporation to avoid any
hardship.
Director Health Services, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman also accompanied the Minister.
