JAMMU, OCTOBER 25: Minister
for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today paid a surprise visit to
Government Hospital Sarwal and took stock of the healthcare facilities
available in the hospital.
The Health Minister inspected various wards and units of the hospital
and received information about the availability of various facilities,
infrastructure, manpower, supply and stock of medicines, diagnostic equipments
and sanitation in the hospital.
Bali Bhagat issued on spot directions for making Special Newborn Care
Units (SNCU) functional at the earliest.
The Minister interacted with teams of doctors and hospital staff and
took stock of the medicine supplies and general patient care being provided to
the patients there. He also interacted with the patients to enquire about the
status basic facilities being offered to them.
Citing healthcare as the top priority, the Minister said that government
is making determined efforts to upgrade the basic facilities along with
installing new medical equipment to provide better healthcare to the patients.
The Minister said that the government will also explore the
possibilities to cope up with the rush of the patients in relation to certain
ailments.
The
Health Minister exhorted upon the concerned for the optimum utilization of all
facilities available at the hospital for the benefit of patients.
Besides stressing on maintaining dress code and cleanliness in the
hospital, Bali Bhagat asked medical staff to provide best possible healthcare
facilities to the patients. Hospital staff was asked to prioritize cleanliness
in and around the hospital premises.
He also checked duty roaster of the staff and directed for maintaining
regularity for efficient functioning of the health institutions.
