POONCH, OCTOBER 04: District
Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, today chaired a meeting of
District Level Review Committee /District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) to review
the performance of banks in respect of achievements under Annual Credit Plan
2017-18 besides taking stock of position of Deposits, Advances and CD Ratio for the quarter
ending June 2017
District Development Commissioner while expressing his displeasure over
low CD ratio impressed upon the bankers to put in efforts to increase the
CD ratio by focusing on potential areas and forming a Committee of the members
from banks and government departments for bringing improvement in CD ratio the
meeting decided to review the progress of CD ratio besides
others issues on monthly basis.
DDC also stressed on the need of holding Financial Literacy camps in
collaboration with Banks and government departments on regular basis and these
camps may also be utilized by the banks for creating awareness among the people
about the Financial literacy, PMEGP, Housing for all,Pradhan Mantri fasal beima
Yojna , Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna & 100% coverage under KCCs etc.
Earlier Lead District Manager, A.K.Gupta informed the meeting that
deposits of the district were Rs 2177.5 crore and advances Rs. 497.92 crore, and the CD
ratio of the district was 22.86 percent.
DDC asked the bankers to draft an inclusive strategy to support and
motivate the new entrepreneurs and guide them towards a financial viable
business opportunities. Efforts need to be made to boost the small scale
industries in the district, he added. He further advised that Banks and
Government department to work in a close coordination and achieve desirable targets.
The DDC asked the concerned agencies to conduct awareness camps in
coordination with banks, so that more and more people are educated, motivated
and facilitated to undertake self employment activities. Among others who
attended the meeting were ADDC Abdul Hamied Sheikh, bankers from RBI, District
Coordinators of JK Bank, and representatives from all other Banks and concerned departments.
