DC Shopian constitutes STF to combat Dengue, Swine Flu diseases

          SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 28: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Ajaz Assad today convened a meeting to review the preparedness and measures to curb Dengue and HINI (Swine Flu) influenza virus in the district.

           Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Child Development Project Officer, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, all Block Medical Officers, Zonal Education Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.

          During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held to find ways to combat dengue and Swine flu diseases. The meeting was informed that the district administration has constituted Special Task Force (STF) headed by Deputy Commissioner Shopian to combat the diseases.

           On the occasion, the DC directed Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Shopian to Constitute district and Tehsil Level teams to provide awareness among the general people on ways to control spread of these diseases.  

          The DC directed the Municipal authorities to form special squads for

carrying out cleanness drives in the areas from where dengue, swine flu cases are being reported. Fumigation and clearing of drains should be done regularly to prevent and control spread of vector borne virus.

          Deputy Commissioner directed the health authorities to provide free medicines to these patients and other essential help to such patients for their proper treatment. He asked all concerned Departments to work in close coordination so that dengue and H1N1 influenza virus is controlled in the district before the onset of winters.

          The Deputy Commissioner appealed general public to not panic and follow already issued Government health advisory in this regard.
