ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 24: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik
today chaired a meeting to review the status of AMRUT implementation in the
district.
It is pertinent to mention that storm water management, sewerage
treatment, septage drainage system, multilevel parking, beautification, and
augmentation of transportation infrastructure are the components under AMRUT
which shall be executed at a cost of Rs. 120 Crore.
The STP plant at Mehandi Kadal is having the capacity of 4 million
litres per day. It was said that a population of 31000 shall be benefited by
this plant and all the household sewerages will be connected to it.
The DDC directed the officers of R&B, UEED, PHE, PDD and BSNL to
have a joint inspection and document the details of shifting of utilities,
areas which need to be taken initially and submit the report within 20
days. Besides, he also directed all engineering department to complete the
tendering process of the patches taken up.
Meanwhile, the DDC directed all the concerned departments to
compartmentalize all the projects in small units so that people do not suffer.
It was given out that the dismantling work of the TB Hospital;
Jangatmandi is going on as a multi-level parking slot shall come up at the
spot.
The meeting was attended by SE Hyraulic, Ex. Engineers of UEED, PHE,
PDD, I&FC, CEO MC Anantnag and officers of BSNL.
