Amaravati, Nov 13: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu informed the Assembly today that twenty people died and two were still missing in the boat capsized incident which took place at Pavitrasangamam in river Krishna, near here on Sunday evening.
Making a statement in the house, the Chief Minister said that 20 bodies had been fished out so far from the river and search was on to trace two more bodies--- Sujana and Ashwika. He said that four victims were undergoing treatment in a private hospital and the condition of one of the women is serious.The Chief Minister has announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia to the families of each deceased.Mr Naidu said the ill-fated boat was operated without taking permission of authorities concerned. FIR was registered by the Ibrahimpatnam police station officers against five persons involved in the boat capsize incident.The Chief Minister said that about 45 people, including three crew members, were sailing on the boat when the mishap took place.
