Srinagar, Nov 14: Encounters ensued between militants and security forces at two places in south Kashmir early Tuesday morning, official sources said.
Acting on a specific information about the presence of militants, Rashtriya
Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF
launched a joint search operation at Naubugh in Qazigund in Kulgam district of
south valley. However, when the security forces were moving towards a
particular area, the militants opened fire, they said.
Security forces also retaliated, ensuing an encounter, sources, adding that all exit points were sealed. Details are awaited. Another encounter ensued when security forces conducted search operation at Lam forest area in Tral in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. The operation was launched on a tip off about the presence of militants. The operation was going on when the reports last came in. UNI
