Legislative Council, Yasir Reshi and District Development Commissioner
Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain, along with a team
of officers today visited various areas of Sonawari to review the pace of
various developmental works there.
The
visit was a follow-up of directions of Chief Minister's decisions, which she
took during December 3 Public Durbar at Bandipora.
During the tour, the
MLC and DDC inspected PHC Sumbal and went around various blocks to assess the
available facilities there. They also interacted with the patients, medical and
paramedical staff and passed directions to the Medical Superintendent to
further improve the patient care facilities.
They visited Vangipora
and identified land for playground under the C M's commitments for the area.
Reshi and DDC visited
Arampora, Zalpor, Nowgam, Inderkoot and other villages during which people
projected various demands before them.
Both the dignitaries gave the public deputations a patient hearing and assured
them that all of their genuine grievances would be looked into for prompt
redress.
At Nowgam Junction, while
taking cognizance of the public grievance regarding kahcharari, the MLC and DDC
assured people
that their demands will be considered sympathetically.
They also inspected various ongoing road projects, health centres, water supply
schemes, protection bunds, and school buildings during which they directed the
officers and executing agencies to speed up the works for their timely
completion.
On the occasion, they
were informed that 40 kilometer of road length has been macadamized in Sonawari
constituency this year. Besides work is apace
on NTPHC Nowgam
at the cost of Rs 1.81 crore which is in final stages of completion.
While inspecting the road work from Nowgam to Gund-i-Nowgam, coming up under
PMGSY at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore, people expressed gratitude to the
administration and the government for construction of this vital road link.
