Mumbai, Jan 6: Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavan on Saturday demanded that against the backdrop of Bhima Koregaon incident and the communal division created by BJP government in last three years, Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis should resign by accepting moral responsibility.
Talking to reporters, Mr Chavan, who himself was chief minister wondered why the real culprits are so far not arrested.
A meeting of senior Congress leaders was held today.
Mr Chavan said the Congress leaders want that the meeting of party president Rahul Gandhi should be held in western Maharashtra and other parts also.
Referring to the Kamla Mill fire, he wondered why government was soft on this incident and BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta should identify alleged pressure by politician or otherwise. UNI
