Panaji,
Jan 5: The Shiv Sena in Goa has alleged that the urge of Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) to make India 'Congress Mukt' was making the state 'Mhadei Mukt'.
Addressing a press conference at the party office in the city
on Thursday, Shiv Sena Goa unit spokespersons Jitesh Kamat and Rakhi
Prabhudesai Naik said the statement made by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar
that it was inevitable for Goa to give share of Mhadei river water to Karnataka
had completely exposed him and his party.'Sena is completely disagreeing with his stand on the issue which leaves the fight to save Mhadei completely redundant. ..Sena had expressed the fear that Parrikar would compromise with the interest of the state on Mhadei issue, which has turned true. The explanation given by Mr Parrikar on why he has toned down his stand is completely unacceptable. It smacks of his party politics and urge to win Karnataka elections,' they said.
To make India 'Congress Mukt', the BJP and Mr Parrikar were all set to make Goa 'Mhadei Mukt', they claimed and said they were speechless on the climb-down by the Chief Minister on the issue. UNI
