New Delhi, Feb 23: In the alleged assault case of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, Delhi
Police on Friday reached Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence to review
the CCTV visuals.
Police sources said the Delhi Police team will investigate
the CCTV at the Chief Minister's residence and can also inquire from the
employees present there.
In the alleged assault case of Mr Prakash, two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal on Thursday were sent to the judicial custody for 14 days.
It was alleged that the two AAP lawmakers had assaulted Mr Prakash at the Chief Minister's residence on Monday night.
Mr Prakash had lodged a complaint that the two AAP MLAs had assaulted him while he was seated on a sofa during the Monday night meeting. Without provocation, the two legislators "started hitting and assaulting" him "with blows on head and temple," he said.
Mr Prakash further alleged that the assault was "premeditated" and a "conspiracy" of all those present.
A case was registered at the Civil Lines Police Station after the complaint filed by the Chief Secretary. Police had registered an FIR on the charges of criminal conspiracy and other provisions defined under Indian Penal Code.
It was alleged by Mr Khan that the Chief Secretary had acted at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party and "the incident was a pretext to dismiss the AAP government".
He further submitted that there was no proof that the Chief Secretary was beaten up.
Mr Khan surrendered before the police in the matter and denied the allegations of assault leveled against him by Mr Prakash. Mr Jarwal was also arrested in connection with the case. UNI
