Jammu, Apr 23: During the
last over three years, many schemes have been launched by Narendra Modi
government with an objective of the welfare and socio-economic upliftment of
the members of weaker sections across the country and the people in J& K
state too are getting the benefits of such schemes. The ongoing programmes from April 14 to May 05are also aimed at
highlighting these schemes.
This
was stated by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes &
Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram
Rattan, while handing over loan Payment Authority Letters (PALs) to unemployed
males and females belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and
Physically Disabled categories, along with Corporation General Manager, Gulam
Qadir Khatana, ADDC Reasi, Ramesh Chander, District Project Officer, ICDS,
Surinder Mohan Sharma, at Reasion Monday.
Balbir
elaborated that it was on the occasion of celebrating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
Jayanti, when Narender Modi government announced “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” which
commenced on 14th April and would continue up to 05th May this
year. The campaign envisages covering all sections of the society, weaker
sections in particular, when it comes to their upliftment, economically as well
as socially, Balbir said. He further said this has been undertaken under the
lines of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” and its primary
objective is to promote social harmony, spread awareness about
pro-poor initiatives of government, reach out to poor households to enroll them
as also to obtain their feedback on various welfare programmes. As a special
endeavour during the “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” in 125 identified villages in the
state, having large population of SCs, schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala
Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala Scheme, Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana,
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Panchayati Raj Divas and Mission
Indradhanush, are being highlighted, he said while informing that in our own
state J&K there are dozens of such schemes in place and the concerned departments
are making relentless efforts to cover the most deserving beneficiaries. The
idea of this campaign is also that beneficiaries not only from urban areas and
cities get benefitted but its outreach should be to far flung areas of the
state, where people remain deprived due to ignorance and lack of avenues.
Corporation
District Manager, Sat Paul and Recovery Assistant Mohinder Kumar were also
present on the occasion.
